Since the majority of hits on my blog are from people clicking on the “about me” page, I thought it might be appropriate for me to post a little more info about myself and how i fell in love with the Arabic Language. First off here’s a little info about where i grew up.
Sunny Southern California
I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, more specifically the San Fernando Valley. “The Valley” (as us locals refer to it) is typically depicted in the media as an idealistic slice of the large pie known as the “American Dream”. Most people in “the valley” live in typically large spacious homes that have a cookie cutter-ish feel to them. In these typical homes live typical families consisting of two working adults, 2.3 children, and the family dog (which 9 out of 10 times will have a two syllable name like “hunter”). An average of 3 out of 5 people in my high school were blonde, everyone knew how to skateboard, and sunburns were commonplace. I grew up in beautiful suburbia (which if you still can’t picture, I suggest watching the movie “Encino Man”).
